Gaetano Donizetti

The Elixir of Love

The premiere

14 / 02 / 2014
Description

One of the most popular opera buffa.

Who has not dreamt (even if once only!) of having a wonderful beverage that could make them attractive to the person they love, so far not too sensitive and open to love confessions and marriage proposals? What if, God forbids, this elixir is on itinerant charlatan's offer, who fools this way the naive and in love? This is the starting point to the true romantic drama or a great comedy, full of funny situations and hilarious misunderstandings. And that is what Gaetano Donizetti thought, while composing the music for one of the most charming comic operas, that is The Elixir of Love. The story of unlucky Nemorino, beautiful Adina and clever Dulcamara will certainly not disappoint any viewer!

The staging in Szczecin will take the audience to the 30s of the XX century in Italian countryside. On stage you will find beautiful scenography, costumes and vehicles from the era.
